Maryland Snow Storm Potential

Tonight a storm system will come thru the Old Line State giving us the potential to see a little bit of snow over the next 72 hours.The amount of accumulation will vary depending on your location.

Snow precipitation forecast from the National Weather Service in Sterling, VA:

Northwest Counties (Garrett to Washington): 6-7 Inches of fresh snow
Central Counties(Fredrick to Hartford down to Prince Georges): 3-5 Inches of Accumulation
Southern Counties (Charles, Calvert, St. Marys): 0-1 Inches of Accumulation
Northern Delmarva Counties (Cecil to Caroline): 1- 3  Inches of Accumulation
Southern Delmarva Counties (Dorchester to Worcester): No new snow forecasted

A Winter Storm Warning is up for the entire state except the Southern Delmarva Counties. This watch is effective until late Wednesday Night. This watch simply means that there is a potential for heavy snow to fall across the watched region. The thought is that they may issue a Winter Storm Warning tonight when the conditions allow one to be issued.
