IRENE OUTLOOK

As Hurricane Irene approaches the coastline, expect major implications along the East Coast starting tonight. Here is a timeline of how Irene will impact Maryland and the Delmarva:

Saturday AM: Clouds move in, the rain begins, and Irene will advance from the south as she begins to push across the area.

Saturday Afternoon: Irene has begun to affect the entire area and the winds are becoming a factor. Heavy rainfall will begin to fall across the eastern part of the state. Tropical Storm force winds will begin to slam the Delmarva.

Saturday night in to Sunday Morning: The worst of the storm, Hurricane force winds along Ocean City and other Delmarva beaches. Tropical storm force will impact the DC and Baltimore Metro areas. A spin up in the form of a tornado isn’t out of the picture.

Sunday Afternoon: Winds begin to die and things will clear out quickly to begin clean up.
It is imperative to note that this storm will be one of the strongest storms to impact our area in many years, the same goes for the Mid- Atlantic.

Please keep watch of all advisories and stay tuned to local radio, MWC, and Foot’s Forecast.
