Winter Analysis | Mark Gonzalez, Long Range and Winter Weather Specialist
Today we'll be in a for a good deal of rain today-maybe over an inch. There could also be a slight chance of a thunderstorm (Espec DC are and south and east) passing through later this afternoon as a warm front crosses over Maryland.I'm sure our severe weather specialist Josh will elaborate on that later today (Scroll down for Severe Analysis). Tomorrow looks to be clearing up as we get one more mild day in the 50s. Tomorrow night as a cold front passes through we'll see some rain changing to snow overnight into Friday morning-looks for now to be light, but it bears watching b/c temps will be hovering right around freezing by daybreak so we could wake up to at least a coating of snow and maybe icy conditions. Arctic Cold for the weekend w/ a slight modification early next week and then cold again.
Severe Analysis | Josh Owens, Short Serm and Severe Weather Forecaster:
As Mark disscussed, Today looks like more of a heavy rain event today with the slim chance of a scattered rumble if thunder. While conditions are in favor of rain, the cloud cover and other factors we watch are showing a not so favorable outlook on the severe weather. So get the rain coats and umbrellas, its gonna be wet! Have a safe and good day. (Josh)
