Minor cool down...storms a possibility.

Well, today has proven to be cooler day than usual! Cooler has its limits all though as we see highs in the low 100's and upper 90's! Excessive heat warnings, heat advisories, and air quality alerts continue to be up across most of the state with the exception of the western panhandle. We will see highs climb a bit more, and with that heat we also see the slight risk of severe weather in the northern part of  the state (Figure 1). A few pop-up storms have sprung up near Ocean City and in the northern neck of Virginia. Expect a few more storms to pop as well. A big cool down is on its way with temps  in the lower 90's and upper 80's! More details to come.
