The rain comes

Hasn’t the last few days been quite incredible? Temps in the middle 80s with no humidity! Not a rain drop in sight and we have football back!

Well besides the football being back and the temperatures being in the 80’s, things will be making a big change here in the next 24 hours (After 10:30a). There is an expected washout starting later this evening going well into the night tomorrow. The National Weather Service in Sterling is forecasting 2.11 inches of rain fall in Washington D.C. from 2pm today (August 13) through 5am Monday morning (August 15). The worst of the rainfall is expected to fall Sunday evening with almost a half an inch of rain to fall in D.C.

Now with this prolonged rainfall comes a risk of thunderstorms, the Storm Prediction Center has the eastern half of the state under a slight risk of storms for tomorrow. This biggest threat is being winds.
