The cold continues to evade us up to this point but now even the most conservative of the weather models is forecasting real cold (but not bitter cold) for late into this week/early next week timeframe. Looks like the local news meteorologists are coming on board with this as well. However, will this be just a quick shot of cold air and then a return to mild, snowless weather? Lesson #1 that I have learned and that is-never trust long range forecast models past 7 days from now. This morning the models are all over the place from a return to mild weather the week of Dec 12th and beyond to repeated shots of cold air and even a snowstorms the week of Dec 12th and beyond. So as not to hype anything lets just wait and see until mid or late this week if we can get any sustained cold beyond what the consensus feels pretty confident will at least occur next weekend.
