4th Quarter Comeback?

Winter Analysis | JAN 29th | Mr G

Wow, Ok I am ready to start at least discussing the possibilities of snow next weekend. I have been holding back because of so many false alarms we have been getting from long range forecast models, but its time to give you a "heads up". One computer model that has surprisingly done very well this winter (but not during other winters) has been consistently showing for days the possibility of a coastal storm developing next Saturday, FEB 4th and bombing out as a significant snowstorm along the coast. The more reliable European Model is also finally picking up on this storm, but giving it a slower movement and hitting Maryland on Sunday instead. Will this be a blizzard?-at this time I cannot say that yet-way too early to call that or predict snow accumulations. But throughout the week as the ingredients needed to create this storm come greater into place, Josh and I will keep you updated daily.

Remember, February is the month where historically we have had our biggest snow storms. The Winter of 1982-83-we did not see much of anything wintery until February when we received the famous Blizzard of 83-so it is possible for winter to suddenly change gears-but listen, we're not saying we will get a blizzard next week nor are we saying the whole month of February will be cold and snowy-but for those who thought winter was over, think again!
